Film Festival - D&AD

Here are developments of the logo for the film festival. I have adapted the brief to transform an existing horror film festival; 'Fright Festival', this seems a perfect name for the event, and gives me an array of outcomes to produce. The current branding of Fright Festival can be found on my context blog.

I want to keep the style classy, reflecting the old great horror films rather than the newer 'gore' films. To do this I have been trying to use a serif typeface, to introduce a modern twist on the logo I have used icons of horror related imagery (grave, blood drop, crucifix). The latter logos are working towards the style I want for the film festival.
